We’re making some changes to the Explorer Series due to COVID and our relocation to Nordegg. We have some exciting ideas we’re playing with this winter and we’ll be sharing those soon. In the meantime, join one of our winter tours to explore the region.
The Explorer Series tours are an easy way to head out on an adventure, whether you’re joining us on your own or bringing a few friends along. Offered on select days throughout the year, these tours feature our favourite itineraries, from ice bubbles to photo tours and guided hikes, along with unique experiences offered only a handful of times each season. The adventures are all about getting outside to play and discover the region’s food, artisans and natural beauty.
Our small groups allow us to be flexible while on tour and to slow down to enjoy the journey. We take care of all the logistics, transportation, equipment and lunch so that all you have to do is enjoy the breathtaking destinations Central Alberta has to offer.
All tours depart from Red Deer with an option for pickup in Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg on many adventures.
Try an evening of snowshoeing in the city or join us for a full day tour exploring David Thompson Country, from the ice bubbles to frozen waterfalls and canyons.
A Few More Things To Know
We get to play outside on our tours and that means you’ll want to come prepared for the weather. Make sure to dress in layers and come prepared for the unpredictable weather we often get in Alberta. We rarely cancel tours due to weather, as long as we can have a safe adventure. You’ll be amazed at how warm we get snowshoeing at -20C or how much fun hiking in the rain can be!
Red Deer’s Ski Bus
The ski bus is a little different from our other Explorer Series adventures. Day trips to the mountain resorts include return transportation from Red Deer, light snacks on the bus and hot chocolate at the end of the day. Lift tickets can be added to your booking for extra savings, allowing you to skip the line up and head straight to the lifts.
While at the resort you’re free to head out on your own, meeting the group back at the bus at the end of the day.
