The Explorer Series tours are an easy way to head out on an adventure, whether you’re joining us on your own or bringing a few friends along. Offered on Saturdays and select days throughout the year, these tours feature our favourite itineraries, from ice bubbles to photo tours and guided hikes.

Our small groups allow us to be flexible while on tour and to slow down to enjoy the journey. We take care of all the logistics, transportation, equipment and lunch so that all you have to do is enjoy the breathtaking destinations Central Alberta has to offer.

All tours depart from Red Deer with an option for pickup in Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg on many adventures.

Summer Adventures

Head out to the mountains for a guided hike to amazing views, waterfalls and canyons. Taste some of the delicious food Central Alberta produces. Float down the Red Deer River, enjoying the sights and relaxing for a couple hours.

Winter Adventures

Winter is never boring. Play in the snow, catch up with friends and make the most out of this amazing season. In case you were wondering, we love winter!

Try an evening of snowshoeing in the city or join us for a full day tour exploring David Thompson Country, from the ice bubbles to frozen waterfalls and canyons.

A Few More Things To Know

Each tour has a minimum number of participants required for the tour to be offered, typically between 2 and 6 guests. If the tour you chose doesn’t have enough interest we’ll let you know the day before the tour and issue you a full refund or a credit for a future tour, your choice.

We get to play outside on our tours and that means you’ll want to come prepared for the weather. Make sure to dress in layers and come prepared for the unpredictable weather we often get in Alberta. We rarely cancel tours due to weather, as long as we can have a safe adventure. You’ll be amazed at how warm we get snowshoeing at -20C or how much fun hiking in the rain can be!

Red Deer’s Ski Bus

The ski bus is a little different from our other Small Group Adventures. Day trips to the mountain resorts include return transportation from Red Deer, light snacks on the bus and hot chocolate at the end of the day. Lift tickets can be added to your booking for extra savings, allowing you to skip the line up and head straight to the lifts.

While at the resort you’re free to head out on your own, meeting the group back at the bus at the end of the day.
