There’s lots to do in Central Alberta this weekend! Warmer temperatures are back, so there’s no reason not get out and play this weekend.

Kick off the weekend downtown Red Deer with Red Deer Centennial’s Fire & Ice Grand Finale.

The event starts at 6pm in City Hall Park with free chili for the first 1,000 people, Centennial Cake, ice sculptures, bonfires on Ross Street and more. Check out www.reddeer2013.ca for more details.

Saturday | Sunny & -1°C

It’s International Women’s Ski Day. Get your girlfriends together and get a few turns in. Close to home Canyon Ski Resort is fully open and Medicine Lodge Ski Club is opening this weekend. Looking to head out to the mountains? We still have a few seats left for our day trip to Lake Louise…

The Central Alberta Refugee Effort is celebrating the different Festival of Light from around the word. Stop by the Golden Circle between 5 & 7pm for a multicutural potluck.

Sunday | Sunny & 2°C

It’s been a busy weekend but the forecast is so nice you can’t help but plan to go play outside. Head out to the Kerry Wood Nature Centre for an afternoon snowshoe around the Gaetz Lake Sanctuary. Need snowshoes? No worries, they have a great selection available for rent there including for kids.
