The Explorer Series is all about getting outside to play and discover the region’s food, artisans and natural beauty. Some adventures follow a similar itinerary to our regular tours while others are unique experiences only offered a handful of times each season.
We’re working on bringing back the Explorer Series for this winter with some changes due to COVID. In the meantime, join one of our regular tours to explore the region.
As a local tour company based in Nordegg, we might be a little biased but we believe our region is an exceptional place. With so many things to experience, the toughest decision is picking one. Adventure is truly found wherever you look. Visit explorenordegg.ca for trail guides, self-guided itineraries and more adventures we think you’ll enjoy.
Westerner Days kicked off with the annual parade this past Wednesday. It’s always great to see the streets lined up with so many people celebrating groups, organizations and local businesses.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police opening up the parade.
Lots of marching bands in this year’s parade. The Red Deer Royals put on a great show as always.
These guys were doing sprints and having a great time on the big bike supporting the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
The Samson Cree Nation had one of the best float in he parade. The dance performances were amazing.
This I had never seen before: riding a bull in a parade!
The kids loved this one for different reasons but the Dumb & Dumber inspired float was great.
My favourite picture of the parade: a simple handshake.
Lots of vintage cars in the parade. Loved this one and how they were dressed in character.
