A Simple Adventure: Dinner at McKenzie Trail

Danielle was away this week which meant the kids were spending most of their time between the office and Cool Beans next door (there’s just something about a double decker bus that the kids love). That usually wouldn’t be an issue, but with all the rain we had this past week we were all starting to go a little stir crazy.
Given that it was Friday night and the first sunny evening of the week we headed out to McKenzie Trail, one of the quietest park in Red Deer. Located just past the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, the park’s small playground is located next to the pond with picnic tables close by. The perfect spot for a fun evening with the kids.

It’s also a reminder that too often we hide behind planning for a bigger adventure or waiting for the weekend and miss out on the many opportunities to make memories that are all around us.
