The first section of the hike heads into the forest, slowly making its way up the mountain.
As we make our way up the switchbacks the views get increasingly interesting. First are the sights of the historic Brazeau Collieries and the front range of the Rockies.
The climb starts to pick up as we make our way toward the ridge. Don't worry, the switchbacks make it easier and the views coming up are well worth the effort.
The trail levels up as we come out onto the ridge and great views of the mountains all the way to Abraham Lake.
After crossing a scree slope we make our way along the ridge with the views teasing us as to what is to come once we reach the summit.
Our destination and lunch spot is the distinctive cap that makes up the summit where we get to enjoy 360 degree views.
The return follows the same trail we used to make our way up.

A Few More Things To Know
We get to play outside on our tours and that means you’ll want to come prepared for the weather. Make sure to dress in layers and come prepared for the unpredictable weather we often get in Alberta. We rarely cancel tours due to weather, as long as we can have a safe adventure. You’ll be amazed at how warm we get snowshoeing at -20C or how much fun hiking in the rain can be!
